About MCRT94

Round Table is a unique organization of young achievers driven by our aims and objects of community service, self-development, fellowship, and fostering international relations. Round Table India’s primary goal is to educate 1 million children by the year 2008. The statistics show that more than 9 out of 20 children in India are not in school. Less than 4 of these 9 survive till high school. The primary reason for this is the acute shortage of infrastructure. Round Table India has already constructed more than 700 schools, built 1500 classrooms and has sent over 350000 children to school.

Round Table India has over a 180 clubs neatly divided into 10 areas and are spread all over the country. The local Chapter, Area II consisting of 18 clubs, besides supporting the Freedom Thro’ Education program has been in recent times very active with providing relief to the Tsunami devastated areas by rehabilitating and rebuilding over 100 schools at a cost of Rs.4 crores in the State of Tamil Nadu.

Madras Cosmopolitan Round Table-94 (MCRT94) is an active member of Round Table India and was chartered in 1989. With a strength of 23 active tablers and 3 Honorary Tablers, MCRT94 has one of the highest number of tablers in Round table India. With a strong fellowship background the table is also one of the most active tables in Roundtable India today. Like the other tables of Roundtable India, 100% of the funds raised by MCRT94 goes directly to funding the various community service project as the tablers themselves absorb all the administrations costs.
